Nekkid, I'm on a week long trip for work, but I don't have much to do because I'm just here as insurance in case something breaks. This has given me time to do other things such as start learning a new game, do some homework, do some reading, explore the town and bleed all over myself.
The suite I am in is very nice. It's bigger than my dorm room was and has a full kitchen. I think that most apartments in Tokyo are smaller.
Arimaa is a fun strategy game. It was designed to be easy to pick up and play, but really hard for an AI to be good at. I think I may put together a board when I get back.
This town is interesting. It is pretty small, only about 40k including the base, but has a huge number of big box stores and nice restaurants for its size. It also has the best network of MUPs and bike lanes I have seen anywhere. Every major street save one has both a sidewalk and a MUP along at least one side, if not both, and most minor streets have a bike lane.
Speaking of bikes, I found a shop that rents them and provides maps of the local trails.
( Adventure time! )
I'll post pictures when I get back.
