Strange cool things
13 August 2004 23:27Two odd things I have been dealing with lately:
1) We have these insulated stainless steel coolant pipes at work that keep the cameras nice and frosty. They are just sitting out in the domes, which are kept at about 80 Fahrenheit most of the time. The past few weeks thay have been pulling enough water out of the air to form an inch of ice all around them every day. We have a large hammer to deal with this when there is too much.
2) My 1985 Honda VF700C Magna uses only 3 quarts of coolant in its radiator. In order to drain it there are 5(!) different drain plugs that must be tapped. My 1990 Toyota pickup uses about two gallons of coolant, and there are 2 drain plugs. However, it is by far easier to change the fluid on the motorcycle.
