Little Things

I've really been trying to be happy, but little things get to me.
Take yesterday for example. Two days ago I saw an ad for a couple of sw33t boxen for sale for a damn good price. After getting a hold of the guy selling them and getting some more info I decided to buy the nicer one yesterday. It had a beautiful case, black with a nifty window in the side, a ton of pretty fans with speed controllers to help with noise, nifty case lighting, a very nice front panel. More importantly it had an Athlon XP 2400+, a 40gig HD, 512mb of RAM, and a GeForce 440MX. OK, so the vid card is a bit dated, but compared to what I am currently running (a 3/4 dead K6-2-400) it would be a major upgrade, and I can get a new vid card when the time comes.
However, when I got it home I found out that it was not running a 2400+, but rather a 1333. This was after putting my old hd in the new box and spending about an hour fiddling with the BIOS to see if it was just misidentifing the proc. And the extra case light doesn't work. Now the difference might not seem like that much to some of you, but a 1333 has half the power of a 2400+. I found this highly frustrating. I took the box back and traded for my check. I was really looking forward to the new machine, not only so I would have a working machine, access to my music, be able to multiplay with Lynn, etc., but I really want to try out the 2.6 kernel and some of the other nifty stuff that has been happening in the Linux world.
And my new knee cops aren't in. I order them 2 weeks ago. It turns out the the secretary forgot to put my box number on the package, so they got all the way to Socorro and were sent back. The armorer has put them back in the mail, they should have shown up Friday, but they didn't.
And I haven't put on my armor in about 6 weeks.
I know, none of this stuff is big, but it has really gotten to me. grrr...
