Quick update
16 March 2005 13:43I don't really feel like talking about all the shit going politically right now, as it tends to make me too angry to be able to type, but this I have to post as it is confirmation of one of my predictions.
Artic National Wildlife Refuge opened for drilling!
What really ticks me off about this is that, in addition to all the environmental damage this will cause, it won't do a damn fucking thing about oil prices. Think about it, the overly optimistic supporters of drilling predict that this will produce 1 million barrels per day (mbd) at peak in five to ten years. The US currently uses 20mbd, and is increasing consumption at around 2-3% annually. By the time this oil starts flowing it won't mean jack fucking shit. Except, of course, to the oil company execs who are running the show.
I bet anyone here $100 that it will be Bush or Cheney family owned/controlled/major stock holder oil companies that do the development. Any takers?
