Armour and such
17 July 2004 22:38Blah, it has been a while since I've updated.
The big news is that
sacra_imbri's surgery went well and she is recovering well. Right now she is sleeping a lot and a bit out of it from the pain killers she is on.
The Rio is still dry, has been for a week or more, there are lots of 4-wheeler tracks in the bottom.
My new armour is coming along nicely, I almost finished the legs today, they just need strapped now, so I should have them by next practice. I need to make some more tabs for my lamellar body suit, I'm about 100 short. I also need to make it to Burque so I can get some more paracord to finish it. I'm going to be working the colors from my arms into the pattern using colored paracord. Take that Mateo, my armour _will_ be prettier than yours! And I will still be able to get into and out of it faster than you! Ha!
Yesterday, Slashdot had an article on a really cool online machine shop. After getting their CAD program and playing around with it, I have found that the price would be quite reasonable for them to punch out stainless steel tabs for lamellar... if I needed to outfit 10+ people. Not at the moment, but it is something I am going to keep in mind for the future...
