Lessons Learned Today
11 March 2007 21:18Today I laid out 90% of the front side patio. I would have finished if the Sun hadn't decided to go down. *shakes fist at Sun*
1) Smoothing the sand is pretty easy over big square areas, but a bit tricky over small oddly shaped ones.
2) You need more sand then you think you do. The amount that goes into the cracks is amazing. I barely had enough.
3) Actually laying the pavers goes quickly when you don't have to cut any.
4) Making all of the custom cuts takes a lot of time.
5) Dust from cutting really dries your skin out.
Most importantly:
6) Playing in the sand is fun!
Also, we now have a very nice frame for our futon and a groovy entertainment stand. Of course, the living room and the computer room are a horrible mess from all of the packaging, books and everything we had to move.
I'll post some pictures of the patio tomorrow after I am finished, and possibly of the living room once we have things put away.
