We're an Anarcho-Syndacalist Commune

In a geeky move unlikely to cause much controversy, I have made a chart of the responses from the survey I posted earlier.

I put people on in more or less in the order they replied, and I tried to use a primary color from their LJ. This was impossible towards the end, and difficult at the beginning since so many people use some minor variation on dark blue. *ahem*

I thought it was fairly interesting to see how many people are grouped around -3,-3. Seems we have a bunch of moderately leftist libertarians running around here. This doesn't surprise me that much as demographics generally show young intellectuals lean toward both of those. More interesting is that we have only one person in each of the other quadrants. I really was expecting a more spread out set of responses.

Next, in a move very likely to cause controversy, I decided to draw in where I feel several political parties and ideologies are, based upon their current leadership.

One of the first things I noticed is that no one is in either of the two largest parties in the US. There are people close to and in their traditional ground, but that is about it. The R's have drifted quite a bit to the authoritarian these past years under the leadership of the neo-conservatives, and are moving even farther toward the upper right corner every day under the direction of PNAC. The D's, who traditionally occupy an area similar to the modern European Socialists, have drifted a bit more authoritarian since 9/11, and quite a bit farther to the right in an attempt to appear "moderate" in the face of massive upper right propaganda. Personally, it really, really bothers me that political debate in this country is limited to where in the first quadrant we should be, with a few dry bones thrown to the other three.

I'm greatly amused, but not surprised, that [livejournal.com profile] sacra_imbri falls into the American Socialist circle.

I also find it interesting that so many people fall into the Green's circle. This amuses me and makes me want to point out the Green Party's 10 Key Values for people to read and think about. In the interest of full disclosure, I am a member of the US Green Party, so I'm sure there will be Ad Hominem attacks about so many people ending up in that circle.

[livejournal.com profile] niap_si_efil and I are going to break off and form our own Anarcho-Syndicalist commune, and complain about being repressed.

I would encourage people to think about how the really about political issues and if their avowed party and elected officials are really representing what they believe in. Check out Vote Smart and Fact Check as starting points.

If anyone has taken the test that isn't on the chart, post here with your results so I can add them.

I'm contemplating putting each section of the test up as a separate entry in order to spark discussion about why people believe what they do. What do you think?

I would now like to open up the floor for discussion.
